Friday, 9 June 1995: Well, it's finally ready to go public, and all I can say is: "It's about time!!!" This tutorial represents a lot of work and thought, and frankly I've been looking forward to finishing up so I can take a short breather. [Pause] Well, that was refreshing.
I
guess I did something good when I published this tutorial. On 17
September 1995, I received e-mail from Point Communications Corp.
informing me that as a reviewed site, I was eligible to display
the Point "Top 5% of the Web" badge. In addition, the
tutorial was included in their book, titled The World Wide
Web Top 1000, and published by New Riders. The tutorial
has also been called one of "The Best Mac Web Sites" (MacWorld, August 1996) and used as a resource by
dozens of college courses and government organizations all over
the world. For other awards and reader comments, the Accolades
page has details.
For those who are curious, this tutorial was produced using a PowerMac 7100/66 and a Macintosh IIci over the course of a month, using a combination of Microsoft Word, Adobe Photoshop, and Netscape Navigator.
